About Us
Tucked into a historic storefront on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington D.C.'s Georgetown neighborhood is Lutèce, D.C.'s first French neobistro and the restaurant that launched The Popal Group's (TPG) culinary evolution.
Named for Lutetia, the Roman city that became Paris, Lutèce is rooted in history and driven by curiosity, a small, warm room where French technique meets genuine creative freedom. The space itself carries its own story: it once housed Café Bonaparte, The Popal Family's beloved French crêperie, for sixteen years, a reminder of the immigrant journey that brought the family to Georgetown over three decades ago.

Today, Lutèce is led by chef-partner Matt Conroy, whose seasonal menu draws from the best of the Parisian neo-bistro movement, exceptional food in a humble space, paired with a carefully curated list of natural wines. Since opening, Lutèce has been named one of the New York Times' "50 Most Exciting Restaurants in America," ranked #5 on Washingtonian's 100 Very Best Restaurants, #3 on the Resy 100, recognized by the Michelin Guide, and named RAMMY's Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year. It remains one of the most celebrated restaurants in Washington, D.C.
